Creating a sacred space for a reading is more than setting up a physical area—it’s an intentional practice of aligning energies, inviting spiritual guidance, and ensuring a pure, protected environment. Whether the reading is delivered through written form, video conference, or in-person, every step is taken with care to ensure a deeply connected experience.

When preparing for a reading, I see my space as a bridge between the physical and spiritual worlds. The area is intentionally cleared, blessed, and aligned, creating an environment where my client and I are both safe and supported by higher energies. This process helps me stay focused, protects against any negative or unwanted energies, and honours the sacredness of the work I’m about to do.

Step-by-Step Process

The following steps are more than rituals; they’re a way to respect the energy of the reading and invite only the highest, most positive influences. Here’s what I do to prepare:

1. Cleansing and Clearing
   I begin by smudging the entire space, myself, and my divination tools. Smudging helps to clear any residual energy that may linger, allowing for a fresh, pure start. This initial cleanse is essential to create a blank energetic canvas, open to new and focused messages.

2. Grounding and Connecting to Source
   Grounding myself and connecting to Source is crucial. This connection brings balance and stability, helping me stay centered and clear throughout the reading. I envision my energy roots reaching deep into the earth, drawing in grounding energy, and then connect upward to Source, aligning myself with divine guidance.

3. Setting Protections and Opening My Energy Space
   Protection is a vital part of my practice. I create a protective barrier around myself and the space, ensuring only positive and loving energies are present. With this energetic shield in place, I open my energy space, allowing me to tune into Spirit without interference.

4. Inviting My Spirit Team
   I call in my spirit team, creating a moment where we align our energies and intentions. I think of this as a “staff meeting,” where I share the specifics of the reading, who it’s for, and the intention behind it. This step guides the session’s energy, setting a tone of respect, clarity, and alignment with the client’s highest good.

5. Meditating to Connect with the Client’s Energies
   Next, I meditate to connect with the client’s energy and with any spirit guides, loved ones, or higher self energy that may wish to come through. This quiet moment allows me to gather initial impressions and messages before the reading begins, helping me enter the session already attuned to the client’s unique spiritual presence.

6. Creating the Sacred Space for the Client
   I then prepare a personalised sacred space for the reading. I select items such as a mat, specific crystals, and other elements that I feel guided to include. Each object is chosen with intention, and I spend time with each one, connecting to any messages or energy it may bring forth.

7. Selecting and Preparing the Cards
   Choosing a deck is an intuitive process, led by Spirit’s guidance. Once selected, I sit with the deck, attuning to the cards and noting any messages or impressions that arise. Each card holds potential layers of insight that add depth to the reading.

8. Delivering the Messages
   With everything in place, I begin the reading. As I interpret the cards, I rely on a blend of what I see, hear, feel, and simply “know” intuitively. I record each message carefully to ensure it captures the full essence of the guidance I’m receiving for the client.

9. Closing the Reading and Final Cleansing
   After the reading, I thank the client’s guides, higher self, and loved ones for their presence and messages. I consciously disconnect from the client’s energy and cleanse both their energy and mine, calling in white light to remove any lingering energies and return them to Source or transmute them into positivity.

10. Smudging the Space Once More
    Finally, I smudge the room, divination tools, and myself again. This last cleansing ensures that any residual energies from the reading are fully cleared, leaving the space refreshed, balanced, and ready for future work.

Preparing a sacred space is a deeply respectful, mindful process that honours the spiritual journey both my client and I are embarking on together.
